AAlib (Ascii Art Library GFX) - allows to convert a collection of images and videos into a ASCII art. The resulting images created with ASCII characters are in different shades of gray. The library is used, inter alia, in the game Quake II (ttyquake) [1] in order to allow the game to text terminals, as well as players, which let you watch movies in text mode (Xine [2] MPlayer [3]) [4].
